Additive Manufacturing

 eoaslogo-small  EOS Additive Manufacturing:
Machine Groups, Rapid Prototyping, Examples & Materials

Few technologies have generated as much excitement as additive manufacturing, or more precisely, laser sintering. By adding powdered materials in layers, with each one “welded” with lasers, laser sintering can build customized parts with unbelievably complex geometries and functional integration from 3D Cad files. Without welds and seams these parts are lighter by far and extremely strong under stress. Ideal applications are in aerospace, medical & dental, automotive, rapid prototyping and tooling, but going forward the technology will spread to many more.
While there is tremendous buzz about “3d Printing” as the arena has come to be known, EOS e-Manufacturing Solutions is one of the select few who have solutions for real world production environments with profitable ROI at it’s core.

Rapid Prototyping Via EOS Additive Manufacturing

Additive manufacturing is ideally suited for rapid prototyping. Direct from CAD 3d rapid prototyping makes it possible to quickly manufacture inexpensive, functional prototypes without the need for manual processing. With the advent of EOS DMLS  and plastics rapid prototyping, heretofore impossible to machine complex shapes such as bionic structures, complex nozzles, impossibly difficult to machine cavitations can now can be manufactured. With EOS family additive manufacturing machines, rapid prototyping leads right to production, and sale. And since different metal and plastic powder materials (see powder materials, below) are available, products made of different materials belonging to one material family (metal or plastic) can be processed on one machine. This is especially innovative for rapid prototyping.
